The Lower Gauley is a great section of river for first-time rafters looking to try their hand at the World Famous Gauley River. A fantastic all-round trip, the Lower Gauley features big waves and holes, as well as amazing scenery. The Lower packs a punch while allowing paddlers a chance to catch their breath and relax in the pools interspersed between 35 major rapids. With rapids like “Heaven’s Gates”, Upper and Lower Mash, and “Koontz’s Flume”, your Lower Gauley experience will be one to remember!
