Enjoy this Gauley River wilderness camping and paddling experience. As with our regular Summer Gauley Trips, we select the best stretch of the Gauley based on current water conditions to create the best overnight trip for you.
Your group will soak in the spectacular solitude of the Gauley River canyon on this self-contained adventure. Your meals are prepared over an open flame so you can enjoy a satisfying meal around the camp fire. You’ll appreciate the escape from the clamor of everyday life because the nights are quiet and the stars are bright.
Because river conditions can change in a few hours, it is possible that we may need to change plans while we’re on the river, adding an element of adventure. Your guides coordinate with Wildwater’s Outdoor Center via radio in case river conditions merit a change in the planned itinerary.

Enhance your Gauley Experience by camping out along the river on your Fall Gauley Overnight.
Tackle the Upper Gauley on the first day of your adventure, stop at our Wood’s Ferry overnight spot and enjoy a hot meal, warm fire and friendly conversation. All the hard work is done for you, all you have to do is show up!
Snuggle up in your tent and wake up in the morning to the smells of hot coffee and bacon. Recharge with a delicious country breakfast and then head on down into the heart of the Lower Gauley.
You’ll enjoy a riverside lunch along the way and finish up your trip with a well-earned refreshment.

Kick off this 2-day whitewater rafting experience with the Lower Gauley. We’ve created this adventure for those who not only want to raft the Lower Gauley and and the Upper Gauley, but also want enjoy camping out along the river.
Gauley River whitewater rafting was never so good! Soak up your Gauley River rafting adventure, as you begin your adventure with an exhilarating day on the giant wave trains of the Lower Gauley. As you hone your skills punching through 5-Boat Hole and the Gates of Heaven, readying yourself for Day 2 on the Upper Gauley.
After your Day 1 rafting trip you’ll hit our exclusive Sugar Creek Camp, change into warm, toasty clothes, relax and help yourself to a flame-grilled dinner with all the extras. Curl up for a well-deserved rest and wake refreshed to a hot breakfast and coffee.
You’ll make your way to Summersville Dam (with our help, of course) and prepare to venture down the Upper Gauley and the Big 5 rapids on Day 2.
